Blog Guidelines

Internet safety is of utmost important at River Valley. Through blogging, students in Ms. Carlisle’s and Ms. Moman’s classes will have the opportunity to learn appropriate online behaviors in an authentic and supervised setting. Students are building their digital footprint each day, so we want to do all we can to make sure it is one of which they can be proud! Before going on online, students will learn exactly what is a blog, how to make blog posts, and how to appropriately make comments on blogs.

The following guidelines have been established to ensure student safety and will be mastered by students before they begin blogging:
  • Students will only be identified by their first name.
  • Posts written by students will be viewed by Ms. Carlisle or Ms. Moman before they are posted to the blog.
  • Posts will not include personal information about students such as addresses or family information.
  • All comments submitted must be approved by Ms. Carlisle or Ms. Moman before they are included on the blog.
  • All students must have parental permission to have their photo, video book review, or work posted to the blog.
  • Parents who leave comments are asked to use their first name only as to not identify their child.
  • All students must abide by the blogging rules established.
